Abstract
Purpose: We conducted a literature review for analyzing the effect of massage on children according to their developmental stage in Korea. Methods: Various academic databases were utilized for a bibliographic search, and the keyword, ‘massage’, was used to identify relevant references without limits on years to determine the overall research trends. Finally, 38 references cited from 1998 to 2014 were selected in Korea. Results: Only two studies adapted a randomized controlled trial design. With regard to children’s developmental stage, half studies were conducted for neonates. Moreover, the percentage of application of a sensory stimulation protocol in newborn infants was 47.3%. Eighty four point one percent of studies measured physiological characteristics as outcome variables and the rate of growth was the most common (46.5%) physiological characteristic. On the contrary, only one study (4%) was conducted to evaluate the effect of massage on psychological characteristics in school aged and the adolescents. Conclusion: This study provides fundamental data on the development and direction for future studies by analyzing studies on pediatric massage in Korea.

Abstract
Purpose: We aimed to analyze the existing nursing studies related to Yangsaeng for providing a foundation for future studies and developing nursing interventions. Methods: Frequency analysis according to year, journal, study design, variable, and measure of the studies published in domestic nursing journals from 1990 to 2014 was performed. Results: First study of Yangsaeng was published in 1997. The numbers of studies related to Yangsaeng was continuously increasing until 2010 and reducing afterwards. Most nursing studies related to Yangsaeng were published at the Jounral of East-West Nursing Research targeting older adults. The most commonly used measure to assess the concept of Yangsaeng was the scale developed by Ae-Jung Kim in 2004. Most studies were quantitative and correlational studies and none of them was experimental research. Conclusion: It would be useful to incorporate the concept of Yangsaeng into nursing research because from a perspective of holistic nursing, the concept of Yangsaeng is similar with the view of health promotion. This may enable to expand the scope of nursing study from a diverse perspective.

Abstract
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify and compare the differences on perceived health status, Activities of Daily Livings (ADL), social support, and residential satisfaction between long-term care hospitals and nursing homes. Methods: Data was collected through questionnaires and interviews conducted from March 29 to April 22, 2011. The subjects were 66 old adults in 3 long-term care hospitals and 53 old adults in 6 nursing homes. Data were analyzed by Pearson’s correlation analysis and t-tests. Results: ADL and subjective health status in nursing homes were worse than those in long-term hospitals, but it was not statistically significant (p>.05). Old adults in nursing homes received more emotional support from other residents and staff, and received more instrumental support from staff than those in long-term care hospitals (p<.001). The mean scores of resident satisfaction in long-term care hospitals and nursing homes were 3.53 (SD= ±0.36) and 3.97 (SD= ±0.44), respectively. Resident satisfaction in nursing homes significantly was higher than long-term care hospitals (p<.001). Conclusion: Health care personnels in long-term care hospitals should enhance resident satisfaction and social support and need to coordinate long-stay patients with nursing homes.

Abstract
Purpose: This study aimed to provide basic data for vascular health of patient who underwent percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) by verifying the mediating effect of compliance in the relationship between risk level of coronary artery disease (CAD) and blood vessel elasticity. Methods: This is a descriptive study with 115 patients, who underwent the PCI a year ago and visited in the cardiology department from January to March, 2015. The risk level of CAD, blood vessel elasticity and the compliance were measured. For data analysis, SPSS/WIN 21.0 and AMOS (IBM) 21.0 were used. Results: There were a positive correlation with blood vessel elasticity score (i.e. inelasticity of the blood vessel wall) (r=.189) and a negative correlation with compliance (r=-.658) in mediating effect of risk level of CAD. There was a negative correlation between compliance and blood vessel elasticity (r=-.482). The direct effect (β=-.226), indirect effect (β=.415) and total effect (β=.186) of mediating effect of risk level of CAD on blood vessel elasticity were significant. Compliance had a partial mediating effect of risk level of CAD on blood vessel elasticity. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that managing and preventing moderating effect of risk level of CAD on compliance is helpful in restoring blood vessel elasticity.
